- My 16 year old cat had a stroke back in January and I skipped school to take care of her that day. She was extremely cold, weak, and didn't walk, her eyes were open but covered by her inner eyelids (talk about scary white-eyed cat!), and she refused to eat or drink. We thought she was going to die THAT VERY DAY. The next morning she started walking (stumbling at times- kinda funny but we're empathetic of our old lady kitty) and eating and per usual howling at us to follow our daily routine. Are any of your pets OCD about your schedule? Comment and let me know! It's free:-)!
- Spring break is FINALLY HERE!! I got to go to work and make some $$$$$ and attend my friends' wedding. It was the second wedding I've ever gone to (at the first one I was a toddler and just remember a young boy popping my balloon at the reception- WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU OWE ME A NEW STINKIN' BALLOON MISTER!) and it was simple, relaxed, and absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Seeing two of your friends exchanging vows in front of their families is truly moving. I didn't know many people there, but I'm thankful for that because it forced me to make some new friends. I'm not a people/morning person, but an honest, an inquisitive attitude and a little coffee changes that instantly! If you are a 'social turtle' like me, remember this; other people are really fun to meet once you open up to them. Look between their eyes (if you just can't find the gumption to make eye contact), then ask something and compliment them. "I love your shoes!" and "Do you know of any good [stores, restaurants, etc.] around here?" are great starters. Be sure to introduce yourself too! Anyway... work and busy life have kept me from posting this week. Sorry!
- Oh and LEONARD NIMOY DIED! I have been grieving since some friends announced the awful news to me at school-- where I literally cried and shouted "It can't be true; Spock's NOT DEAD!" a little too loud for my own reputable sanity. My dad sent me a text saying he'll be back; it's just the Genesis Project- just a little pick-me-up for those who have seen the old Star Trek movies! Live Long And Prosper to all of you and may this great actor's soul live on beyond this Earth. I'm really shocked William Shatner didn't visit his funeral though. C'mon Kirk- go see your buddy for the last time for his sake!
- Reason numero quattro for my absence from the net; I make lots of my recipes in bulk and freeze them to pack later. this saves me from constantly cooking tons of stuff every night and keeps stuff I don't finish from spoiling. Try it! My recipes reheat wonderfully in the microwave and stay cold until lunchtime without those little lunchbox ice packs that make a wet mess. So therefore, I haven't really been cooking any new recipes for yall lately. Again, my sincerest apologies!
I'll start posting again and keep yall updated with lots of food, ideas, and opinions so stay aboard crew!
